Leah is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Dietitian treating individuals, primarily 17 years of age & up. Along with being a speaker/writer on topics related to counseling, trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and more, she is also the regional coordinator for EMDRIA. EMDRIA is the national governing body for EMDR therapy. She is an EMDRIA consultant which is the highest level of certification available. In addition to providing psychotherapy to clients, she is a consultant to other therapist on EMDR. Her private practice is in Edmond Oklahoma.
With over 18 years of experience as a therapist, and completion of two graduate programs specializing in Counseling and Health Promotion, she has the knowledge and experience necessary to effectively and efficiently serve a broad spectrum of clients. Her primary treatment areas are depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder and past and present trauma-related problems, relationship issues, stress management, self-esteem, problem resolution, and eating disorder therapy.
Leah is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach which is tailored to each client. The types of therapies used may include Reality or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Eye Movement Desensitization and Re-Processing (or EMDR for short) or energy psychology techniques such as Effective Freedom Technique or Tapas Accupressure Technique.
